In commitment to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and to the mission of the church and through the enabling of the Holy Spirit, American Baptist Women's Ministries provide opportunities for each woman to:

become and develop as God's person;
build God's faith community;
and serve God's world

More than 100 years ago a group of Christian women, concerned about the evangelization of women in other lands, met to formulate a plan of support for the employment of Christian missionaries overseas.

During these 100 years many changes have taken place. American Baptist Women's Ministries has remained a biblically-based Christian organization reaching out to all women in all nations.

OUR FOCUS: PEOPLE & MINISTRY

Personal Development Ministries provides opportunities for each woman to become and develop as God's person; deepen her faith, develop her gifts and become a more effective Christian disciple and steward. (Romans 12:1-2)

Church and Community Ministries provides opportunities for women to build God's faith community; develop relationships and meet the physical and spiritual needs of others in their homes and their communities. (Ephesians 4:15-16 and Luke 4:16-19)

Mission and Service Ministries provides opportunities for women to serve God's world; participate in American Baptist mission outreach and meet the physical and spiritual needs of others in our nation and in God's world. (Mark 12:28-34)

YOU ARE INVITED...

We invite all women of the Charleston Baptist Temple to participate in American Baptist Women's Ministries. We encourage each woman to participate according to her own needs, interests, and gifts as led by the Spirit of God. We have no other purpose than that of the church; to proclaim Jesus Christ and to witness as his disciples in missions at home and abroad.

We meet two a month:

The third Thursday at 12:15 PM for a luncheon and program, and
The first Tuesday for most Circle meetings.

About Our Circles

Many of us give willingly of time and self to the program and purpose of American Baptist Women through the fellowship of Circles.

Our programs are planned to help each woman grow in her devotion of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and in commitment to the mission of His church.

Offered are opportunities for becoming knowledgeable through:

Mission study and discussion
Programs of the task of the church
Bible Study
Worship
Community services

We give of our money to:

Projects for our state needs
Love gift
White Cross
Hunger projects
Scholarships
Blanket fund
And other worthwhile projects

We give of our time to:

Rolling bandages, cutting quilt squares
Making health kits for migrant workers; tray favors; layettes; clipping commemorative stamps and Campbell product labels
Visiting shut-ins; writing to our missionaries
Reading for our spiritual growth

Love Gift

An over and above offering that expresses our thanks to God for our blessings and our desire to share these blessings with others. The money received supports the entire American Baptist family -- Regional, National, Educational, International, and ABW Ministries.

Love Gift boxes and envelopes are available from World Mission Support. The boxes hold coins and bills that express our daily gratitude; the envelopes carry checks.

White Cross

White Cross is the program through which American Baptists provide needed supplies to diversified ministries.

Annually our church received overland and overseas White Cross Quotas and we strive to meet the needs as requested. Our missionaries and mission partners depend on these gifts.

Overland White Cross provides important aid to children's homes and Christian Center work in our own USA.

Overseas White Cross supports the work of our missionaries and mission partners overseas.

We cut quilt squares, roll bandages or do whatever is needed or requested.
